What we do
This section provides information on the main topics of German Development Cooperation in health and social protection.
In line with the Sustainable Development Goals, German Development Cooperation supports partner countries on their way to universal health coverage and social protection. Across the wide range of specific topics and interventions, Germany’s support is guided by a human-rights based approach, aiming to ensure equal access to services and protection the most vulnerable groups, and by a holistic systems strengthening approach, looking at the way different actors and elements (such as staffing and financing) interact in determining the scope and quality of health services and social protection.
