Digital and Financial Literacy: Empowering Women and Building Climate Resilience in Sindh (Pakistan)

The Digital and Financial Literacy Training (DFLT) programme equips women across Sindh (Pakistan) with practical financial and digital skills, enabling them to manage household resources effectively, access government support, and make informed decisions. Mobile Registration Vans: Expanding Access to Social Protection in Pakistan

In remote regions of Pakistan, distance and mobility barriers—such as the need to travel long distances and bear transport costs—often prevent vulnerable families from reaching Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) offices to register for assistance. To address this, BISP, with support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through GIZ Pakistan, has launched Mobile Registration Vans. These vehicles bring the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER)—a nationwide database that collects household information to determine eligibility for social protection programmes—directly to people’s doorsteps. This initiative makes inclusion possible for elderly individuals, women, and labourers who might otherwise be left out. The video captures how this innovative outreach is transforming access to social protection in Pakistan.
