Reaching the vulnerable in Cameroon

The German Last Mile Initiative enables the national health system to conduct vaccination campaigns amongst the most vulnerable. The GIZ-implemented Support to the health system and family planning for the resilience in Cameroon project is training health workers and public health delegations in implementing awareness campaigns.

Support is also being provided to the Ministry of Health to improve the immunisation information and surveillance system and the quality of data collection for evidence-based decision-making. As a first step, collaborations are being sought with international and local partners to raise awareness among vulnerable populations. Furthermore, two vaccination sites are to be equipped with solar energy.
