The German Last Mile Initiative supports the Government of Zambia to ensure that COVID-19 vaccinations are available and accepted across the country. With financing provided by the German government through KfW Development Bank, UNICEF is supporting the procurement of necessary cold chain equipment, as well as vaccine sensitisation activities and campaigns aimed at increasing vaccine acceptance. It is also supporting risk communication and community engagement activities. The information and sensitisation measures have already reached more than 2.1 million people.
